A trip around Kuala Lumpur

     For years I have lived in Klang Valley, A gigantic area along the Klang River, but even we live here...We seldom got the chance to see the tourist attraction here. All we know is shopping..shopping..shopping..

If you ask any local where can you find any shopping malls, they will know the answer...
Pavilion la~ Sg.Wang la~ Times Square la~ 1 U la~ Sunway la~ and bla bla bla....

If you ask any local where can you find food...they also know answer la..
Food is everywhere in Malaysia, just which is better..

If you ask any local where can you visit tourist attraction....they only know a few
most common one...KLCC and KL tower( you can see it in the skyline, everyone will see it....)

There actually a lot of places to visit and sight seeing in KL...all you need is just a pair of legs....

So, I took my time and went around KL, visiting places and being a tourist~

Masjid Negara (National Mosque)

Its the nation's mosque, and on normal days, you actually can go inside and visit... For a non-Islam, its actually quite an eye opener, see how a mosque is in the inside, there even people explaining the meaning's of the word and design of the mosque...

Muzium Negara(National Museum)

For a Malaysian, there not much to see here...most of things we already read in our history text book.. 

If you didn't read it before, it explain to you the history of Malaysia from the stone age to 21st Century.

if you a foreigner that want to know more about Malaysia, you can drop by...

if you a Malaysia, there is not much to seee

National Planetarium

It is located just next to the nation museum, not much to see and do. It explains how astronomy started and our solar system. They also have small experiments that you can try out. Good for kids but maybe not adults. 

There are also movies shown about space exploration every hour, the movies are projected on a gigantic dome. I haven't been to much Planetarium around the globe,so I have no idea its good or not.

Dataran Merdeka & Banguan Sultan Ismail

I won't say there is anything to see except the building and the big flag pole at the end of the field.
Banguan Sultan Ismail was the old administration building during the British Administration, you can see a very strong influence of European style in it.

Dataran Merdeka is the field where for years was where our National Day Celebration took plcae. A field in the middle of the city.

 The gigantic flag pole at the end of Dataran Merdeka. I once heard that the flag flying on top is the world's largest flying flag, not sure how true it is...

Tugu Negara (National Monument)

 Tugu Negara is quite far away from other tourist attractions, and It's where we remember those who fought for freedom and independence.

 The first monument, it was to remember those that fought in the Great War, World War 2 and during the Malaya Emergency....

Crafted around the monument are those lost their lives in the Great War

The Second monument, written on it is...

"Dedicated to the heroic fighters in the case of peace and freedom, 

May the blessing of Allah be upon them"

This bronze monument sort of reminds me of an ionic photo during the world war 2..

 Raising the Flag on Iwo Jima

I know it doesn't look the same...but...Malaysia's one look a bit weird...

 

 What tourists come to Malaysia to do.....

KL Bird Park

 Located near Tasik Perdana, its one of the location I think worth the most of my time when I visited. According to the guide, its the World's Largest Free-flight Walk-in Aviary, once you enter, you entered a gigantic cage, where the birds are just a few inch away from you...

I spent 3 hours there, walking around and taking photos... 

If you're a photography maniac like me...you'll love it..

Looking at this photo is kind of sad... The bird will never know what is behind that net...

 KL Bird Park's Bird show, its just a bird show but some are quite good, they even have a parrot that can do calculations~

 A bird waiting for it's next lunch...

There still a lot place you can go around Kuala Lumpur that aren't listed here...I only had 1 day to go around, and I didn't see everything...
